Research University
More than 15 sports teams represent the university in the competitions of the Third Division of the National University Sports Association (basketball and wrestling programs are especially strong). First-year students of UChicago should live on campus, more than half of the undergraduates prefer to stay there (the rest live on campus). On campus, students are housed in university “homes” that make up the dormitories to which students are assigned. Houses usually live in very friendly communities, within which students are supported not only in their studies, but also in socialization. UChicago has more than 400 student organizations.

Location
The University of Chicago, located in the picturesque Hyde Park, near Lake Michigan, offers students a life no less diverse and rich than in the metropolis. Since 1997, the campus (a total area of 217 hectares) has opened an incredibly beautiful botanical garden. The appearance of the campus is difficult to attribute to one particular style – this is primarily a combination of traditional English Gothic and modern buildings designed by leading architects of the world.
